Vice dean and professor Liu Zhengwei, college of Education, Zhejiang University was invited to the University of Wisconsin-Madison

    Our vice dean Liu Zhengwei visited the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison during April and May, 2012, which was funded by the China Scholarship Council for Doctoral Supervisor’s Short-term Visits Abroad for Communication and the World-famous University Partnership Project.
    The ranking of the Curriculum and Instruction Department has been the top in the USA and has held a key position in international curriculum and instruction research. During the visit which was thoughtfully arranged by cooperator Professor Baker, professor Liu communicated with well-known professors in curriculum history, curriculum sociology, and multi-cultural curriculum research to discuss expanding cooperation research. Vice-dean Liu also held 5 small scale special communications and activities such as doctoral dissertation topics, research methods, and curriculum design and writing with around 20 doctoral students in the curriculum and instruction field.
    During the visit, vice dean Liu gave an academic presentation titled “At the end of the empire: historical events, curriculum reform and the construction of national identity,” for doctoral students in the history of curriculum major. Through his visit, both sides communicated on a wide range of common views such as mutual development of joint doctoral student programs, promoting academic research, holding international academic conferences, and others.
